Does the flash LED work on my device?
The camera flash LED requires Chrome on Android. iOS Safari doesn't support the Torch API yet. On desktop, only the screen light and PC power tools are available. The screen light, timer, and all special modes (SOS, Morse, Strobe, Candle) work on every device.
Does this work on iPhone / iOS?
Yes, most features work on iOS: screen light, all colors, brightness, timer, schedule, SOS, Morse code, strobe, candle, and police modes. The compass works on iOS 13+ (it will ask for permission). The flash LED torch and magnifier require Chrome on Android. Battery indicator is Chrome-only.
Why does it ask for camera permission?
The browser Torch API requires camera access to control the flash LED. The magnifier also uses the camera. We never record or transmit any data · your privacy is fully protected.
Can I use this as a night light while I sleep?
Yes! Pick a warm color or use Candle mode, set a timer for however long you want (up to 8 hours), and the screen light will turn off automatically. Keep your phone plugged in to avoid battery drain · the battery indicator will show your level.
What's the Morse code feature?
Type any text and the tool will flash it as Morse code using both the LED and screen. It shows you the dot/dash preview before flashing. Great for signaling or learning Morse code.
How accurate is the compass?
The compass uses your device's built-in magnetometer via the DeviceOrientation API. Accuracy depends on your device's hardware and calibration. For best results, do a figure-8 calibration motion with your phone.
Can I use keyboard shortcuts?
Yes! Press Space to toggle the screen light, Esc to turn it off, and Up/Down arrows to adjust brightness. This makes it great for quick use on laptops.
